The Desktop Support Technician Program will get you started in your IT career by preparing you with the skills to successfully troubleshoot desktop environments running on the Microsoft Windows® operating system. Students will learn to build, maintain, and upgrade computer networks. The program includes extensive hands-on training in the areas of PC hardware, PC operating systems, PC troubleshooting, Network hardware, Network operating systems, and Network troubleshooting. The goal of this program is to increase the knowledge and technical competency of entry-level computer service technicians to demonstrate a wide range of skills required in today’s networked environments.
This program will help you troubleshoot, install programs, use Operating Systems and their applications, as well as master skills in formal problem solving. You will also gain the benefit of hardware knowledge. Graduates will possess the knowledge needed to configure and operate a variety of networking products. This course additionally lays a foundation to meet the prerequisites for additional New Horizons courses.
Industry certifications achieved include: CompTIA A+, Network+ and Microsoft
Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST).
